About the creator

Peter Turner is a Durban-based artist whose work reflects a life shaped by language, technology, and human connection.

A former English teacher with over 15 years in South African secondary schools, Peter later built a successful career in software development. But it was art — especially drawing and painting faces — that became a deeply personal form of expression, especially following his recovery from a stroke.

His work blends realism and abstraction, capturing the nuance of emotion, the stories etched in faces, and the untamed beauty of wildlife. With hundreds of artworks created over the years, Peter is now bringing them into the light, sharing not just images, but insight, humor, and life experience.

He also writes poetry and film scripts, further blurring the line between word and image — always reaching toward something both grounded and imaginative.
